The history of the Bijotai estate is related to the old Paškevičiai family, whose predecessor is regarded Vizbaras. The Grand Duke of Lithuania Vytautas gave him a land holding with two peasants in the vicinity of Kaltinėnai. On January 15, 1529, Zygmunt I confirmed this privilege to Jurgis Paškevičius, a grandson of Vizbaras.
From the middle of the 16th century, Bardžiai and Bijotai belonged to the Paškevičiai family. The park was planted by Norbertas Paškevičius, a foster brother of Dionizas Poška, in 1825. The territory of the park covers about 4 ha, it has a four-stemmed linden, a 4.3 m diameter thick maple; oaks and 40 straight-trunked small-leaved lindens.
At present, Norbertas Paškevičius Estate Park is a recreational area of Bijotai eldely, with a summer stage, a cleaned pond and summerhouses. The main path of the park is decorated with wooden sculptures based on D. Poška’s poem “The Peasant of Samogitia and Lithuania” by the woodcarver Pranas Petronis.
The former buildings of the Paškevičiai estate have not survived, but in 2013, the grotto of Lourdes was built using stones of former buildings. The funds for the construction of the grotto were donated by the local residents; the construction work was organized by the Bijotai village administration.
