The Bijotai estate mill was built in the last decade of the 18th century, after damming the Pella Stream. The mill was primitive and old fashioned. 3 hectares of land and a pond formed by the Pella Stream belonged to the mill. In order to secure the dam, the water level had to be regulated, especially in spring, when a large amount of water accumulated in the pond. When running normally, the water from the dam was able to turn a large wooden wheel that was attached to a millstone in the building.
The mill of the Bijotai manor was in good shape and with all subsidiary buildings: a large house, which included the mill premises and the living-space of the miller and his family. Next to this house there was a barn and a vegetable garden. The miller was allowed to use 3 ha of land, so he could also farm. The mill operated until 1960.
The old water mill has not survived to this day. After reconstruction in 2011, the existing building was built on the site of the old mill according to the survived photographs and plans.
