Memorial flagstone – foot: Vytautas Kazimieras Šliogeris

On the corner of the second house of Turgaus street (reconstruction of this street was the last project of an architect Vytautas Šliogeris) – foot, eternalizing the memory of Vytautas Šliogeris (1943-2006). „This foot is like a signature of Vytautas Šliogeris in Turgaus street. In the heel area there is a motive of the coat of arms of Klaipėda, because he was a visible man, all his energy having rendered to Klaipėda“, – says creator of foot, artist Vytautas Karčiauskas. Architect – L. Šliogerienė. Vytautas Šliogeris was an active public figure, so on the flagstone there are marks of the Reform Movement, Scout Association, ROTARY club and other symbols.

This man was an expert of heritage preservation, architect, historian, researcher and reconstruction projects organizer of Klaipėda Castle, Kopgalis Fortress, one of Klaipėda Castle Jazz Festival organizers, experienced yachtsman.
