Decorative accent “Puodynė su pinigais” („Basket with coins“)

This is a metal plastic sculpture – a bronze money-box with dropped coins, created according to exibits of the Museum of Lithuania Minor. Author of the decorative accent – sculptor Ina Šuliak.  

Sculpture adorned the eastern wall of the first house of Tiltų street. Architect Vytautas Paulionis considers that such unexpected archaeological discovery – turned on the side money-box, sticking out of the wall, should evoke that on the first floor of this house, which was built in 1915-1916 year and decorated with the blazon of the city, there was a savings bank with operations hall and premise for saving of valuables (According to article of Livija Grajauskienė “The Old Town will be adorned by one more mini sculpture”. Klaipėda, 2007-07- 31).
