„152 русских воина, павшие в Великую войну“ (152 Russian soldiers, fell in the Great war) – it is inscription in Russian, Lithuanian and German languages on the granite monument for Russian soldiers who were killed in battles in Klaipėda in 1915. This is one of the pre-war monuments, which survived during the Second World War and remained until our times. In Soviet times the monument was demolished by bulldozer, but soon again restored. The Russian inscription saved it from destruction. It was satisfied having chipped off from the top of obelisk Orthodox Cross. During the Reform Movement period monument was restored and environment was trimmed up. A modest obelisk is still located in Klaipėda, in destroyed Bomelsvitė cemetery, near the former „Žalgiris“ stadium, in Pušyno street.
