City pond

Šilalė city pond was created near Vytauto Didžiojo Street by building a dam for Ašutis rivulet. The dam is located in the city centre and the city often hosts various events near the pond. In 2012, it was equipped with a floating fountain, which became a city attraction.
Around the pond there are wooden arbours, where you can find a shelter on a hot summer day. If you take the path from the pond, you will reach the children’s playground and the volleyball court.
Just like the pinewood of Šilalė, these are among most favourite local places for recreation.
