Municipality: Klaipėda

In Klaipėda Ferdinand Square, which is located in Bokštų street, a memorial cross, devoted to Pranas and Algirdas Brazinskai with the inscription „For feat of 1970“, has been arisen. The cross was built by Valentinas Zaborskas. Folk artist from Vilnius Algirdas Judickas carved a nine-meter-high cross with the portrait of Brazinskai; it is, perhaps, the world‘s only monument to the civil airplane kidnappers.
In Klaipėda Ferdinand Square as well by initiative of V. Zaborskas there is built a memorial cross with the inscription „For feat of 1961“, dedicated to officer of Soviet Baltic Military Navy Jonas Pleškys, which, in initiator‘s opinion, is not properly honored.
Other memorial crosses, situated in Klaipėda Ferdinand Square: A memorial cross to Jonas Budrys-Polovinskas with the inscription: „The commander of Klaipėda uprising of 1923“. A memorial cross to Blessed Jurgis with the inscription: „Defeat the evil with goodness“. A memorial cross with the inscription: „St. Casimir, please, protect Klaipėda region“. Cross to people‘s suffering, protest and hope for freedom.
