On 15 January 1923 the SupremeCommittee of Rescue of Lithuania Minor by armed revolt ended the way to take over the power in all Klaipėda region and city. On 30 November 2003 Tilsit Act turned 85 years old. On 15 January 2003 it was celebrated 80 years since the victorious march of Klaipėda region insurgents, which allowed to join this part of Lithuania Minor to the Republic of Lithuania.  

On 8 August 2003 in Klaipėda, near Danė river to the commemoration of the jubilee dates of these historic events the Monument to the United Lithuania was introduced. It is creation of the Laureates of the Lithuanian National Culture and Arts Award sculptor Arūnas Sakalauskas, architect Ričardas Krištopavičius and engineer constructor Tautvydas Tubys „Arch“. On the top of the monument there are carved the words of the famous Lithuanian writer Ieva Simonaitytė, written a month after the 1923 revolt.
