Sculpture “Neringa”

The authors of decorative sculpture „Neringa“ – sculptor Dalia Matulaitė and architect Rimantas Buivydas. The idea of giantess is expressed not by large scales, but by maximum tension of form and concentrated energy. While gaining height plastic and emotional tension accumulates in the upper part of the sculpture where sails, wings and Neringa‘s head with personalized features, crowning the central composition axis, are composed. Character isgeneralized, a little bit rigorously, reminiscent of the harsh seaside nature. Wood scheme in bronze facture of sculpture is bright as well – reminds of broken bark.
