The old ship rescue station in Nemirseta

The ship rescue station was built in the early 20th century. The brave ship rescue team, which helped sailors in trouble during stormy weather, consisted of local farmers. Voluntarily risking their lives, they saved a number of sailors from sinking, shipwrecked or aground ships, although the sea claimed some of their lives too.

The ship rescue station in Nemirseta is the only one out of eight stations that survived to this day. Slightly dilapidated and abandoned it is waiting for its true owner.
