Memorial flagstone – foot: Rimantas Ulevičius

In 1998 after the tragic death of Klaipėda city vice-mayor Rimantas Ulevičius (born in 1961), his father folk artist Vytautas Ulevičius in memoriam of son founded Rimantas Ulevičius‘s charity and support fund. An artist Vytautas Karčiauskas suggested to memorialize remembrance of famous people from Klaipėda by a symbolic foot. The first of these foots occured at the former headquarters of the Reform Movement – at Vežėjų street 4. The foot recalls that this place was often visited by Rimantas Ulevičius – the history teacher, beloved by schoolchildren, the youngest secondary school director in Klaipėda, the commander of green protection squad, one of the first volunteers, originator of the Reform Movement in Klaipėda, one of the first restorers of the ROTARY Club in Klaipėda.
