Memorial flagstone – foot: Alfonsas Žalys

Alfonsas Žalys (1929-2006) is honoured by foot at city Municipality in Liepų street. In 1969-1990 he was Chairman of Klaipėda City Executive Committee, Laureate of State Award of the Lithuanian SSR (for the Sea Museum-Aquarium); also in 1990-1992 he was a deputy of Supreme Council of Lithuania-Reconstituent Seimas, a signatory of the Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania; Honorary Citizen of the city of Klaipėda, Chevalier of 4th level Medal of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas (Kas yra kas Klaipėdos apskrityje, UAB Neolitas, 2001).
